Welcome to Game Almighty’s Team Fortress 2 strategy guide! Having spent the last 3 months exhaustively playing this incredibly addictive multiplayer game, we’ve compiled some of the best tips and tricks around. Hopefully even the most seasoned TF2 veterans will find some new things here – I know I got a couple from my coworkers and friends that were polled. Unfortunately, those looking for ways to cheat or hack will be out of luck - everything in this guide is designed to make you a better player.

The guide is arranged by class, and then by map. First we give you a breakdown of each playable character with their respective pros and cons and some general tips that will make you a better player regardless of the scenario. Next we delve into the six stock maps that come with Team Fortress 2 and give you specific strategies for success.

Before we get into the nitty-gritty details, here are some basic things every player needs to know:

* Communicate! Get a good mic and use it regularly - but please don't be obnoxious by screaming or playing terrible music. Voice chat makes Team Fortress 2 infinitely more enjoyable when used correctly.

* The best defense is a good offense. Many players get caught up in defending too much right off the bat (or "turtling") and forget that usually the only way to win in TF2 is to attack - unless you're the defending team on Dustbowl or Gravel Pit. Even then, you're better off getting into the mix and disrupting the other team's attack strategies. Choke points are usually away from the objectives, so be sure to fight there, not at the objectives themselves which are usually in more open areas and more difficult to control.

* If your team starts losing a control point, stand on it! You'll block the capture and give your team valuable time to get reinforcements there. Running in circles around the point while trying to kill the attackers won't do a lot of good, and chances are they'll end up getting the capture and your team will hate you. Check out the video below to see how defending a control point is done properly. In case you're wondering, none of the videos used in this guide have audio. You really don't want to hear what most of my teammates sounded like.
